Because I think it’s time for a new knife for myself. I’ve had my CRKT M16-13SF for about 10 years now, and it’s getting a bit worn. I think I’ll just replace it with another CRKT, unless anyone here has a better idea. So oppo, what is a good pocket knife ?

If there is a people more opinionated that car people its knife people. Let me cut through the noise right away and say that its all crap unless you bought it from a guy who learned from the knife fairy and is made out of steel you’ve never heard of. it takes a little upkeep but it can cut paper or arm hairs like nothing else.

I like to knife but i’m more gun than knife.
I carry a Kershaw Brawler usually. Kershaw speedsafe assisted action is reallly really nice too. However, I am disappointed with how well the cheaper Kershaws keep an edge.

I just do Spydercos, nothing special. Had a number and they’ve all been flawless. Delica and Endura are the two best all arounders.

My brother who is a knife snob recommends an Ontario Knife Company RAT I. He ensures me it will last at least 10 years.

This is what I use for EDC, Emerson design licensed to Kershaw. Well made, simple, and it even has Emerson’s wave feature, which is God’s gift to speed opening:
BUT
MORE IMPORTANTLY
It’s an okay bottle opener in a pinch

For pockets knives I’ve just stuck with Gerbers. I’m usually carrying one and they get used for a variety of things. I’d hate to lose a nice knife or beat the snot out of it every day. Still a decent knife but certainly not the nicest. Spent more money on my big Schrade for camping. Money well spent for sure.

I really like the Boker Subcom. Affordable but easily EDC’d and holds a nice edge through abuse. Not the fanciest knife in the world but does a good job for a good price.

Sometimes I’ll carry a nice-looking knife, but most of the time my EDC is a Sheffield 12113 utility knife. It’s as good as whatever blade I put in it. I like the Lenox Gold blades.

big fan of SOG. Carry the flash or x-ray vision daily. Flash is very lightweight, great for daily carry

I have that exact knife as a back up. I always carry Kershaw or CRKT
Watch woot.com. They frequently carry both under the sports and outdoors tab

I’ve added a couple more since this pic. What are you using the knife for? My work knife is the HK 14716 on the left. D2 steel, G10 scales, and an Axis lock for $85-ish. I cut wood, zip ties, cardboard, and plastic all week long and only need to put it on the SharpMaker once every couple of weeks to keep it sharp enough for me. The Buck 55 (middle of pic with brass bolsters) is a great everyday pocket knife that I use with lunch. It slices up apples and oranges with ease and also cleans up my nails quite well. If you’re looking for something to open your mail/slice food/cut tape, it’s tough to beat a $10 Opinel.

I like any of Kershaw’s speed safe knives. I EDC a Rainbow Chive b/c it’s small enough to use as a keychain and its rainbowness doesn’t freak people out when I use it in my white collar workplace.
Ialso have a mammoth tusk Leek (the white one from this online photo) and a Blackwash Leek that I use for outdoor use.

I would say get a Ontario folder, I got a fixed blade from them and It’s pretty solid

Gerber Remix Tactical
it’s a knife. It’s a good size. It does all the knifey things. But most of all, has a big ring so you can mindlessly swing it around your finger (safer when closed).

you know, I thought I knew a little bit about knives and I read a lot about them and stuff, so I might be able to help, but I was completely wrong. I’m going to recomend a kershaw skyline. most things by kershaw really.

Oh yeah. If you want a cheap bang around knife, you’d be hard pressed to find anything better than a Ganzo from GearBest.com. Kershaws are extremely good and can be had at very low prices from walmart too. I could keep talking about this for days.
